Condor's extensive drilling work for SSI UK Ltd on the blast furnace at Redcar received Royal blessing with a visit from HRH Prince Charles on 24 October 2011.
The drilling operation attracted major media attention being featured on both the BBC and ITV news that evening.
SCOPE: Drilling and grouting, rock anchors from the surface, remove and rebuild stonework.
ISSUE: This job was delivered in an incredibly tight time frame. It was essencial to complete on time to keep the lock at Brighouse open.
SCOPE: Grout curtain, sheet piling wall, new copings, Cray fish baskets
ISSUES: The site adjacent to the canal was being developed and there was a leak from the canal onto the site. Condor was asked to install a grout curtain to stop the leak and then install a 100m sheet pile wall as well as design, manufacture and install new coping stones and Cray fish baskets
SCOPE: Driling and pressure grouting.
ISSUES: The access was very limited and the leakswere severe. As part of a larger scheme it was imperitive that Condor Projects finished on time. Condor used all terrain vehicles and finshed ahead of schedule.
SCOPE: Bank stabilisation
ISSUES: All the work had to be undertaken whilst the householders were living in the cottage. The slope was steep, unstable and ran directly to a canal.
