Condor Projects Ltd has now started work on Carwinley Low Bridge in Cumbria. Damage to the bride occurred after the Carwinley Burn flooded following severe rainfall.
The project involves a design and installation of soil nails drilled into the wing walls. Due to the access all the anchors will have to be installed with light weight drill rigs and hand tools from scaffolding.
The project will involve drilling galvanised anchors 8m deep with 2m into solid rock. By doing so, the drilled anchors will prevent any further movement or damage to the structure.
