In late 2022 Condor Engineering were contracted to reinforce a series of bollards on the cruise terminal of Dover docks. The bollards are used to tether cruise ships to the dock when they come into port.

Condor Engineering have secured the next phase of works on the Port of Dover after impressing during phase one. The works consisting of reinforcing the concrete for the Cruise Terminal bollards is beginning soon.

In light of this our in house engineering division are hard at work servicing and upgrading our mobile drilling platform, the Husqvarna DXR 310. This machine is ideal as it is lightweight, durable and able to drill in places otherwise impossible to get to safely.

The DXR 310 is equipped with a Marini rotary percussive drill able to comfortably drill down to depths of 10+ metres, whether it be through made up ground, cast concrete or solid rock.

The drill is sat on a drill mast which is then secured to a cradle which has been purposefully built around the dimensions of the Husqvarna, the cradle which houses the hydraulic hoses needed to operate the Marini is protected by a steel framework thus reducing the chance of damage to hoses and incorporates a Bluetooth receiver so the operator can drill from a safe distance reducing the possibility of injury.

The servicing and modifications will be completed this week allowing ample time for the machine to be tested ensuring that the works at Dover will be successful.
