Condor Projects was approached by May Gurney and British Waterways back in January 2011 to Restore Lock No1.

At the first site meeting with British Waterways and May Gurney there was an obvious issue of access and the distance between the access and the lock itself. The access was only just wide enough to walk through. Condor looked at this situation and managed to get in touch with the land owner of the field adjacent to the lock.

We where able to site our Welfare unit on his farm and use his field to get access to the lock. As we started the drilling and removal of the quadrants it became apparent there were more voids along the side of the lock and the third quadrant was also in very bad condition.
