Condor Projects’ work at Salterhebble hill is progressing well. The site, which features a bank that is to be completely excavated in order to widen the highway, is being pinned and meshed by Condor Projects. Ground stabilisation on the bank involves pinning with rock anchors / soil nails and then covering the bank in a mesh to further retain the earth. Furthermore, the bank will then be covered in towel rails for the installation of “wild seed bags”; this is purely for aesthetics.
Excavation works are almost complete! The final phase of removal of the bank is currently underway and Condor are in attendance as drilling specialist to secure the bank and ensure that it is made safe. This week, another row of pins have been installed within the ground and filled with grout to secure the soil nails / rock anchors.
