Salterhebble Hill Soil Nailing Update

Condor has recommenced work, after the Christmas break, on our ground / bank stabilisation job on Salterhebble Hill, Halifax. The projects aims to widen the road way, increasing the traffic from a single to a dual carriageway, through the removal and pinning of an earth bank.

This week, Condor projects sent a team of expert drillers whom speacialise in rock anchors and soil nails, to tighten the nuts holding holding the pattress plates, which in turn hold the mesh. These are tightened in order to fully utilise the bank stabilisation properties of the mesh.  Despite freezing conditions, work is progressing well.

Prior to this phase of works being completed, it was identified that the drillers would require ellevated access. Therefore, prior to the job, Condor sent the drillers to complete a bespoke course. Condor’s drilling team are now trained and licensed to operate static booms; i.e. Spiders.

And of course, as always, these machines are operated with maximum precision; as shown here!
