Condor has completed another bridge overhaul project for North Yorkshire County Council and Ringway.
The remit was to grout the fill over the arch barrels and behind the abutments to fill any voids and rake out and repoint the stonework to restore the bridge in accordance with its original condition. As a focal point of the village and main route for the local bus network, Condor also took responsibility for the traffic management with the aim to cause as little disruption as possible. Pedestrian and local horse riders also needed to be catered for and careful consideration of drill noise levels especially with significant horse movement over the bridge. In this regard it was especially pleasing to receive a thank you email sent to our client of which an extract is outlined below;
“I just wanted to email and say how incredibly considerate the two chaps working on the bridge in Sinnington have been to the local horse riders. My horse can be quite silly and they have been very tolerant and good humoured about turning off machines etc.
Perhaps you could pass mine and other local riders thanks on to them”.
The works were completed a week ahead of schedule despite difficult weather conditions which pleased the client who also complimented the operatives on the quality of their work especially the repointing.
